Tell us about your company and its role in the industry.
NORD DRIVESYSTEMS is a global leader in drive system technology, offering high-efficiency and reliable gear units, motors, and variable frequency drives (VFDs). We specialize in complete drive solutions that are efficient, reliable, and built to meet the demands of end‑of‑line applications. Tony Pariseau (Key Market Specialist, Packaging & Food & Beverage) and Mark Arisman (Manager of Business Development, Motor Control Products) bring targeted industry expertise to NORD’s booth (SU-29008) at PACK EXPO.
Why is exhibiting at PACKEXPO an important opportunity for your company this year?
PACK EXPO has always been a fantastic place for us to connect with customers and industry partners, and it’s where so many meaningful conversations happen. This year is especially exciting with the packaging industry expanding and embracing more automation and modernization. It’s the perfect time for us to showcase the latest in NORD technology and demonstrate just how versatile and capable our solutions really are.
What makes your booth a must-visit destination for PACKEXPO attendees?
We’re bringing the full package. Our booth will showcase complete drive solutions, including gear units, motors, and VFDs, all designed for high-volume, high-throughput environments. A highlight will be the launch of a new hygienic, caustic washdown solution that’s perfect for processing environments.
Will your company be participating in any educational sessions, demos, or forums during PACKEXPO?
We’re not doing any formal sessions this time around, but we’ll have live demos at our booth. It’s a great opportunity to see our products in action and chat directly with our team about how we can configure our solutions to fit your specific operational needs.
When you get a chance to explore the exhibit hall yourself, what are you most excited to see? Any sessions, pavilions, or innovations you're particularly looking forward to?
We’re excited to see what’s new in robotics and smart automation - there’s a lot of innovation happening in those areas. Walking the floor is always a great way to discover new trends, meet potential partners, and get inspired. We’re particularly looking forward to the robotics and AI pavilions as we explore how these technologies will shape the future of our product and service offerings.
With the rapid advancements in automation, robotics, and AI, how is your company integrating AI-driven solutions into your products and services to support customers?
We’re actively exploring how our VFDs go beyond just controlling motors to act as smart data collectors. By pulling operational data from the field, we can feed that into AI-driven systems for predictive maintenance. This allows us to help customers stay ahead of potential issues and keep their operations running smoothly.
Looking ahead, what are your insights on the future of robotics, automation, and material handling in the packaging sector?
We see the future of packaging moving toward smarter, more modular systems. Our decentralized drive solutions, where the VFD is moved out of the control cabinet, make it easier to install, maintain, and scale operations. This more flexible and cost-effective approach is ideal for end-of-line packaging and aligns with where much of the industry is heading.
